The Université de Neuchâtel (UniNE) was founded in 1838 as an Academy. Having acquired its status as a full university in 1909, it celebrates its first centennial this year. It is one of the top research universities in Switzerland in various scientific domains. Most notably, it is embedded in the local R&D tissue centred on microelectronics and nanotechnologies including the Insitute of Microtechnique (IMT-EPFL) and the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM).
Dr. Etienne Riviere (project coordinator) has received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Universite de Rennes 1, France in 2004 and 2007, respectively. In 2008 and 2009 he has been the recipient of the competitive ERCIM “Alain Bensoussan” fellowship, which led him to work at the University of Neuchatel and at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. Since October 2009, he is a researcher at the University of Neuchâtel. Etienne interest and expertise lie in publish/subscribe systems, content-based routing, decentralized search and storage, and peer-to-peer systems. Etienne is responsible for the coordination of DIONASYS.
